Flying an aircraft is much more than just a mechanical task—it is an art form, a test of precision, and a dance with the skies. Today, I am thrilled to share one of the most exhilarating moments of my aviation journey: executing a perfect “touch and go” maneuver with the mighty F-15 Eagle at the famous Courchevel Altiport.
The weather on this particular day was ideal—clear skies with a gentle breeze brushing across the alpine terrain. As I lined up the aircraft for the final approach, the sheer power and imposing silhouette of the F-15 filled me with a deep sense of respect and focus. My mission was simple yet demanding: bring the jet down smoothly to kiss the runway surface of this challenging altiport, and immediately push the throttles forward to climb back into the blue.

Managing airspeed and altitude with absolute precision, I lowered the landing gear and gently reduced power. The dramatic, snow-capped peaks and stunning landscapes surrounding Courchevel framed the approach beautifully as the aircraft descended.
Then came the defining moment. The landing gear touched the runway surface with a crisp, unmistakable thud—just a fleeting, perfect brush against the asphalt before the plane lifted right back up into the air. For a split second, earth and sky met. But there was no time to dwell; the twin engines roared back to life with immense thrust, and I pulled back on the stick.
In a surge of raw power, the F-15 leaped back into the sky, carving its way upward into the horizon. The rush of adrenaline as the jet transitioned instantly from landing posture to a steep climb was indescribable. It was a true celebration of aviation power, engineering, and control.
Experiences like this remind me why we fall in love with flight. It is a momentary connection with the ground followed by the eternal freedom of the skies—a memory I will cherish forever.
